PoliNations is a celebration of colour, beauty, and of natural diversity. Giant architectural trees and thousands of plants transformed Victoria Square into an urban oasis, hosting free events, workshops and performances including live music, dance, spoken word and drag. We were asked to capture the event and create video content for the social media accounts.
We thought it would be a nice idea to get in-depth coverage of the entire live event of the opening weekend, covering every speaker, also including ‘behind the scenes’ footage and clips of audience reaction. We also thought it would be good to show only the top highlights of the event as a short montage which we we would cut from all the best clips. We planned the setup and video spec to take this into account and had several cameras roaming capturing the event at all times.
We also wanted to record time-lapses of the audience arriving at the venue and during event activities, such as workshops, installations and speakers surprising the audience with a fun facts or just cracking a jokes in between the presentation. As a light show was a big part of the event we new we had to film the audience’s reactions to the specific moments during that part of the event.
