Little Heroes, the charity supporting children and families at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, commissioned us to create a powerful campaign film highlighting the urgent need for dedicated parent accommodation beside the hospital.
When a child is seriously ill, having a parent close by can make an enormous difference. However, existing facilities are limited, leaving many families facing additional stress during what is already one of the most difficult periods of their lives. The aim of the film was to communicate this need in a way that would inspire support and encourage people to get behind the campaign.
Over several days, we filmed within the hospital, capturing real stories from families, healthcare professionals and the wider hospital community. Using our documentary led approach, we created a safe and sensitive environment that allowed contributors to speak openly about their experiences. These honest, emotional interviews formed the heart of the film, supported by carefully observed footage that brought authenticity and compassion to every scene. The finished film combined cinematic visuals, thoughtful storytelling and a professionally recorded voiceover to create a compelling appeal that connected with audiences on a deeply human level. Rather than simply explaining the campaign, it allowed viewers to understand why dedicated parent accommodation is so important and the lasting impact it could have on families. The campaign has played an important role in helping Little Heroes raise awareness and build momentum for the project, with plans for the new accommodation now moving significantly closer to becoming a reality. Projects like this are particularly meaningful to us. They remind us that powerful storytelling can do far more than promote a brand or organisation, it can inspire action, influence change and improve people's lives.
